- Mr. and Mrs. GinnSouthern Africa & Rovos Rail, 2014
Now that we are safely home we re-live our “dream that came true”. It was well planned and thoughtful as we 80 year olds were so well taken care of by Glee. Southern Africa was magnificent in every way – one highlight was the day in the townships where we were all one. The Rovos Rail was an experience, perhaps too much food and wine, but gives rattle and roll a new meaning. And so, from Jill’s early guidance to Jeremy’s welcome home, we thank you.

I have just returned from a wonderful trip. I would like to thank you all but in particular our Journey Manager Denis Normandeau, he was thoughtful, funny and extremely caring. This was my first time touring with a group and was pleasantly surprised at how well everyone melded. Thank you all again and hopefully I will travel with you again.

Our recent journey with our friends at Jerry Van Dyke was as enjoyable as our first one eleven years ago and all the other in between. Thank you for responding to your captains and taking us into the quiet, narrow rivers where the only sound at times was that of hundreds of birds in the forests and where we could almost shake hands with riverside walkers. It was wonderful to again have Glee as our tour manager supported admirably by Josie and Jeremy.

To the staff and the Van Dyke family, sincere thanks for your dedication and effort to ensure all your guests had a relaxing and stress free holiday. The Anacoluthe was a great ‘home away from home’. All the staff is “A One”, helpful, courteous, obliging and best of all, always smiling. The visit to Juno Beach and surrounding area was memorable and brought home the sacrifices that the young men of Canada made with their lives so that we can enjoy our lives in freedom. Sincere thanks go to Mark and Alexandra. In their successful effort in retrieving an article left behind on the Anacoluthe. Extra special thanks go to Alexandra who gave up her free time in Paris to meet the Anacoluthe, pick up the lost article and deliver it to Linda in Paris. This was service above and beyond. The accommodation in the Manor de Mathan in Crepon was outstanding; it made you feel like royalty.

When our flight from Frankfurt to Toronto was delayed because of Air Canada, Denis attended to everyone’s needs, with meals and a very calm demeanor. He made arrangements for our room in Toronto, as well as rebooking our flight the next day to Ottawa. Jeremy met us at the airport with a big smile and a hug carrying our room vouchers and boarding pass. What service!! I even got a call the next day to make sure everything went smoothly and that I got home ok. No one I have ever traveled with has done that before.

This was our first trip to Europe and our first organized tour, so we were quite apprehensive. Christine in the office answered our questions and concerns with good humour and efficiently arranged everything. Your brochure and road shows promise a lot - it was hard to believe these expectations were met and surpassed. It was a wonderful journey, and I can’t imagine changing anything. Your tour directors were first rate – Denis is a real professional, John had a great sense of humour, and I especially enjoyed Helene and her encyclopedic knowledge of history.
