Day 1


Enjoy a private car ride to the airport. Guests departing from the Toronto airport are assisted with their check-in. Meet your Journey Manager and fellow travellers and board your flights to Bucharest, Romania.

Day 2


Bucharest, Romania’s capital and largest city, has an interesting heritage of mixed cultures, influenced by the ancient Romanian aristocracy educated in France, the German King Carol I, and the communist society. After arriving at the Bucharest airport, we meet our friendly local guide and make our way to our accommodation in the nearby village of Snagov. This evening join your fellow guests for a casual welcome dinner.

Day 3


This morning, explore Mogosoaia Palace and admire its indoor park and architecture. Enjoy lunch in the luxurious palace restaurant before returning to Bucharest for a special evening in the city’s oldest pub. (B,L,D)

Day 4


Today, drive to Sinaia and tour the stunning Peleș Castle, Neo-renaissance residence of King Charles I. Then, continue to the Rhein-Azuga wine cellar, believed to be one of the oldest in Europe, to enjoy local cuisine paired with a selection of sparkling wines. After settling into our accommodation in Poiana Brasov, enjoy dinner in a famous hunting restaurant. (B,L,D

Day 5


Bran Castle—known as the “Dracula Castle” because of its medieval look and former owner, Count Vlad the Impaler—is a highlight of any visit to Romania. Over lunch, we reflect on this castle’s unique history and mysticism. We make our way to the city of Brasov to marvel at the imposing Gothic architecture of the Black Church and to enjoy a traditional dinner. (B,L,D)

This morning, we visit the “Libearty Zarnesti” nature reserve where 79 rescued bears have made their home amongst the lush forests, streams and ponds. Following lunch, we return to Bucharest where we settle in to our hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner with fellow passengers of the MS Silver II. (B,L,D)

Day 7


Welcome to Bucharest, the “Paris of the East”, where art nouveau buildings lay in stark contrast with communist architecture. We visit one of the city’s oldest churches as well as the colossal Palace of the Parliament. After lunch, we head to Fetesti to board the MS Amadeus Silver II, your home for the next nine days. This evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner. All meals will be served on board unless otherwise indicated. (B,L,D)

Day 8


Gain an intimate perspective of the lush Danube Delta aboard a small safari boat. A sanctuary for around 300 bird species, the delta’s shimmering lagoons and narrow channels are an ideal retreat for any wildlife lover. Disembark at the picturesque village of Sfântu Gheorghe to dine on fresh fish and homemade plum schnapps. (B,L,D)

Day 9


After a stroll through to the small town of Hirsova, cross the golden beaches of the Black Sea to the ancient metropolis of Constanta. A walk into the historic city features views over the Great Mosque and Genovese Lighthouse, while a visit to the History and Archaeology Museum further reveals the city’s colourful past. (B,L,D)

Day 10


Spend the morning in the town of Giurgiu before crossing the Danube to Ruse, Bulgaria. Our excursion begins in the medieval town of Veliko Tarnovo for views of the magnificent Zarewez fortress and a visit to a 13th century church. We then continue to the small town of Arbanassi, famous for its ornately painted churches, stopping at a typical Bulgarian restaurant before returning to our ship. (B,L,D)

Relax on board as we cruise along the scenic Danube and pass through the famous Iron Gates, part of the border between Romania and Serbia. (B,L,D)

Day 12


Belgrade is a gateway between East and West and a city that reveals its turbulent past through its ancient streets and monuments. Delve into the city’s history as we visit the Kalemegdan fortress, Terazije square, and Church of Saint Sava. After a refreshment break at the Hotel Majestic, spend some free time exploring the city’s quaint shops and galleries. (B,L,D)

Today, let the sights, sounds, and tastes of Hungary fill your senses. Begin the day with a relaxing drive into the Hungarian Puszta, stopping to observe demonstrations of local handicrafts and dance. Then, learn about another local specialty at the House of Paprika before continuing our exploration at a traditional Hungarian ranch, where we enjoy a glass of local wine while watching an equestrian show. Day 14


The Danube flows through the city dividing Buda and Pest. We begin our tour with the east bank in Pest, which boasts the Great Market Hall, Hungarian State Opera, and Heroes’ Square. Then, crossing the Danube into Buda, take in the unforgettable view from Castle Hill and visit the Royal Palace of Gödöllő. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional Hungarian folklore show on board. Day 15


A morning of cruising brings us to Bratislava where we admire the beauty of St. Martin’s Cathedral and Grassalkovich Palace. We continue our exploration with a guided walking tour through the city’s restored old town that has maintained its Gothic-Baroque style. Tonight, we enjoy the Captain’s Gala dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 16


Today, we bid farewell to the MS Amadeus Silver II and turn our attention to the exquisite sights of Vienna. Traverse the grand Ring Road, enjoying magnificent views as we enter the heart of the city. We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before spending a relaxing afternoon settling into our hotel. After dinner, let the ethereal sounds of classical music envelop you during a performance at the Golden Hall. This is sure to be a magical night you won’t soon forget. (B,L,D)

Our last full day in Vienna begins with a visit of the sumptuous Schönbrunn Palace, where twenty galleries invite us to experience a world of curiosities and wonder. In the evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner at a typical Viennese Heuriger, famous for its fine Viennese wines and comfortable atmosphere. (B,L,D)

Today we bid “auf wiedersehen” to our new friends and make our way to the airport for our flights home. Enjoy our private car to your home. (B)
