Day 1

DEPART FOR ZAGREB, CROATIA

Enjoy a private car ride to the airport. Guests departing from the Toronto airport are assisted with their check-in. Meet your Journey Manager and fellow travellers and board your flight to Zagreb, Croatia.

Day 2

ZAGREB, CROATIA

On arrival in Zagreb, we are met by our local guide and transfer to our hotel to settle in and relax. This evening, we enjoy a casual welcome dinner at the hotel. (D)

Day 3

EXPLORING ZAGREB

Zagreb is Croatia’s capital and is imbued with rich Roman heritage. The cityscape is decorated by church spires within a vibrant, cultural atmosphere. This morning, we take a panoramic tour of the city and ride the historic funicular. Following lunch at a local restaurant, spend the afternoon at your leisure further exploring the exciting culture and history of such sites as St. Mark’s Church and Ban Jelacic Square. This evening we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (B,L,D)

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA

The picturesque capital of Slovenia has held the prestigious title of European Green Capital, in recognition of its commendable environmental record. After lunch on arrival in the city centre, we discover the open-air market, Robba Fountain and a Baroque Town Hall that is sure to impress. Arriving at our hotel, we check in and enjoy dinner together. (B,L,D)\

BLED

The surreal beauty of Bled’s glacial lake, island church and Alpine backdrop once beckoned medieval pilgrims, before the scenic town rose to fame as a favourite among European aristocrats. We explore dramatic Bled Castle before lunch in a local restaurant. A rowboat trip to the island Church of Mary the Queen situates us in the heart of incredibly romantic landscapes. Ring the church bell to make a wish, before we return to Ljubljana for dinner at our hotel. (B,L,D)

PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK, CROATIA

Sparkling waters have gushed over limestone rocks for thousands of years at Plitvice Lakes National Park. The UNESCO-listed site is famed for cascading waterfalls and abundant wildlife. After lunch in the park, stroll the wooden paths around terraced lakes and lush woodlands. Prepare yourself for awe-inspiring moments. A scenic drive takes us to Zadar to check in and dine at the hotel. (B,L,D)

ZADAR & SPLIT

The home of the first Sea Organ in the world, Zadar is a living museum of ancient, medieval and Renaissance history. Discover the highlights on a guided walking tour before travelling by coach to Split. After lunch at a local restaurant, board the MV Aurelia yacht, our home for the next seven nights. All meals will be served on board unless otherwise indicated. Take time to settle in, then enjoy Roman architecture on a guided tour of atmospheric Split. HVAR

Brač Island is famous for the production of white stone used to build Diocletian’s Palace in Split, and the pebbly shores of stunning Zlatni Rat beach. Enjoy the shimmering waters here, before lunch on the ship at the Pakleni Islands and our arrival to Hvar. Lush lavender fields characterize this seaside holiday resort. Explore historical landmarks on an afternoon tour. To top off a wonderful day, revel in the town’s vibrant nightlife. (B,L,D)

BIŠEVO & BLUE CAVE

Biševo is a tiny island with a huge claim to fame. The Blue Cave is a natural phenomenon that glows with mesmerizing blue light. Admire the ethereal scene before we cruise to Vis. Once a strategic naval Yugoslav base, the isolated island retains its old-world charm. Spend the afternoon at your leisure savouring local wines and strolling around admiring remarkable sights such as the waterfront Villae Rusticae. (B,L,D)

KORČULA

This afternoon we enjoy lunch in one of the secluded bays en route to the enchanting island of Korčula, birthplace of Marco Polo and home to one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. We discover its rich history during our guided walking
tour of the city. This evening we travel to a small village for a typical Dalmatian dinner, accompanied by fascinating historic and traditional insights. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds! (B,L,D)

Day 11

MLJET

According to Greek legend, the hero Odysseus spent years on Mljet after he was captured by Calypso the nymph. Surrounded by lush forests, this island of myth displays the remnants of Illyrian and Roman settlements. Visit the famous salt lakes of Mljet National Park and enjoy a boat ride to St. Mary Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine monastery. Alternatively, spend time at your leisure exploring this breathtaking destination. (B,L,D)

SLANO

Inhabited since prehistoric times, picturesque Slano is peppered with ancient ruins and pine forests that frame a peaceful bay. We begin our day here with a short coach ride to the nearby fortified village of Ston and our exploration of the its medieval ramparts. A relaxing coastal walk leads us to an oyster farm to sample its famous delicacy. This evening, take pleasure in the Captain’s farewell dinner and live entertainment back onboard. (B,L,D)

Day 13

DUBROVNIK

Dubrovnik was the capital of the sea-faring Republic of Ragusa from 1358 to 1808. It’s now considered one of the world’s most spectacular walled cities, with a pedestrian-only Old Town and a diverse culinary scene. First, admire the old city walls while savouring lunch on deck. Following a guided walk of the Old Town, we take a cable car ride to enjoy panoramic views of the Walls and Elaphiti Islands. Along the way, let yourself fall under the spell of this bewitching city. KOTOR, MONTENEGRO

Today we disembark the MV Aurelia and travel to Perast, where a short boat ride brings us to the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks, which houses one of the finest collections of wall paintings in this part of Europe. We then continue to Kotor, where a medieval maze of streets highlight Venetian palaces and a bustling cafe culture. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before our local guide takes us on our walking tour of the old town. We then return to Dubrovnik and check into our hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 15

CAVTAT, CROATIA

Today a scenic drive through the countryside and Konavle Valley leads us to Cavtat, the southernmost town in Croatia. Full of culture and history, Cavtat is frequented by numerous sailors and yacht enthusiasts. We explore the old town and visit the birthplace of famous Croatian painter, Vlaho Bukovac. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before retuning to our hotel in Dubrovnik. This afternoon explore at your leisure before enjoying farewell dinner at our hotel. (B,L,D)

HOME

Today we bid “doviđenja” to our new friends and make our way to the airport for our flight home. Enjoy our private car to your home.

Split

The 2nd-largest city in Croatia (and one of its most picturesque), Split is known for its Diocletian’s Palace, St. Domnius Cathedral and cobbled Old Town. Enjoy the plentiful Roman architecture of Split during our guided tour.
