Day 3

Porvoo is a perfect example of how gracefully the old can blend with the new, while still retaining its own unique atmosphere. Built in the 18th century, the residential area of Old Porvoo is an idyllic and picturesque district perched on a hill by Porvoonjoki. Porvoo Cathedral, located at the heart of Old Porvoo, is one of the city’s most famous buildings. Built at the turn of the 14th century, the cathedral’s remarkable history has seen it burn down five times, most recently in an arson attack in 2006. Following the devastation, the cathedral was renovated for two years, finally reopening to the public in 2008. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Helsinki, GLO Art Hotel

Day 4

Positioned on a rocky headland cradling the Baltic Sea, Helsinki is one of Europe’s most handsome, eccentric and captivating capital cities. The city maintains a personality that is markedly different from that of other Scandinavian capitals, and in many ways is closer in temperament and certainly in looks to the major cities of Eastern Europe.
On our tour of the Finnish capital we will admire the major sights such as the Rock Church, the Senate Square surrounded by the Lutheran Cathedral of Helsinki, the Senate, the University and Library of Helsinki, the Sibelius monument, the Olympic stadium, and the new Opera House. Following lunch, we board our ferry and travel to Tallinn, Estonia. On arrival in Tallinn we will be transferred to our hotel and have time to settle in before dinner.
Overnight Tallinn, Nordic Forum

Day 5

Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, lies on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, only 70 km south of Helsinki. At the historical and medieval heart of the city is the hill of Toompea, covered in cobbled streets and filled with medieval houses and alleyways. The lower town spreads out from the foot of the hill, still protected by the remnants of a city wall. Around the city wall is a series of well-maintained green parks, great for strolling. The city's old town has been astonishingly well preserved and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
During the tour, we will admire the Alexandre Nevski church, Dome Church, and the 13-14 century Danish-German castle, today the seat of the Estonian Parliament. There will be time for photo stops, and to take in the views of the medieval town-wall and tens of towers. Then we will walk down to the Lower part of the city. The highlights of this part of the town are the Town Hall Square with the 15th century Town Hall, the 15th century pharmacy, and the buildings of Great Guild and Brotherhood of Blackheads. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to continue exploring this fabulous city.  (Breakfast, Lunch)
Overnight Tallinn, Nordic Forum

Day 6

Following breakfast, we will board our private coach and drive from Tallinn to Riga, Latvia. Sit back, relax and watch the country side go by as we travel along European Route E67. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Riga, Radisson Blu

Day 7

This morning is at your leisure to explore on your own or enjoy the amenities of the hotel. This afternoon our local guide shows us the sights of this fantastic city before we board our overnight ferry to Stockholm.
Discover the Old Town of Riga on the banks of the river Daugava with its narrow-cobbled streets and splendid boulevards, tiny shops for high quality traditional craft ware and shiny department stores, Medieval Gothic basilicas and cathedrals, the Opera House and romantic historic squares, and the Jugendstil district where the most explicit collection of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe are found.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Tallink Silja Line, A-Class, Outside Cabin

Day 8

On arrival into Stockholm, which is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the North,’ we are met by our local guide and our tour begins at Fjällgatan to see the magnificent view of the Swedish capital, spread out on 14 islands with Lake Mälar on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other. We see the Old Town with its fascinating narrow cobble-stoned alleys, the Royal palace, the Cathedral, and the City Hall where the festivities of the annual Nobel Prize award take place. The visit also takes us to the recreational island Djurgården where many of the fine museums are found. We visit the Vasa Museum to see the only preserved 17th century ship in the world. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Stockholm, Scandic Haymarket

Day 9

Drottningholm Palace is Sweden's best preserved royal palace constructed in the seventeenth century, the permanent residence of the royal family and one of Stockholm's three World Heritage Sites.
The palace was constructed according to a French prototype by the architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder, by commission of Queen Hedvig Eleonora. Many royal personages have left their mark on the palace since then. The palace features magnificent salons from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, a beautiful park, a unique palace theater and a Chinese Pavilion. The imposing Baroque garden was laid out beginning in 1681 according to drawings by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. The afternoon and evening are at your leisure to explore on your own.

During our visit of the Norwegian Capital we will admire the Royal Palace, National Theater, Parliament, Opera House by the water front, and the medieval Akershus fortress. There will be time for a stroll through the Frogner Park with the controversial sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. We also visit the Viking Ship Museum and the Kon-Tiki Museum which houses vessels and maps from the Kon-Tiki expedition, as well as a library with about 8000 books. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure.  (Breakfast)
Overnight Oslo, Thon Opera

(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Flåm, Frethein Hotel

Day 13

Today we enjoy a fjord cruise on the Nærøyfjord, listed on UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord in the world, at one point only 250 metres wide, beneath mountains that tower up to 1700 metres above its sheltered waters. The scenery is very impressive, and if you look up, you can see mountain farms clinging to the steep mountainsides. Following our cruise and lunch we travel to Gjøvik where we stay for the night. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Overnight Gjøvik, Clarion Collection Grand

Day 14

This morning we drive to Oslo where we have lunch before boarding our overnight cruise to Copenhagen. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Split by lakes and surrounded by sea, an upbeat waterside vibe permeates Copenhagen, one of Europe’s most user-friendly capitals. It’s a welcoming, compact city with a centre largely given over to pedestrians (and cyclists) with an emphasis on café culture and top-notch museums by day, and a cracking live music, bar and club scene by night.
On arrival into Copenhagen, we embark on a canal cruise and our visit takes us into the heart of the Danish capital, full of historical buildings and ancient streets. You will see the Little Mermaid and the Gefion fountain, the Royal residence Amalienborg Palace and the Nyhavn Canal with its charming outdoor restaurants and picturesque cafés, the Christiansborg Castle, the home of the Danish Parliament, the Royal Opera House, and many more sights.
